Satellite Comms for Industry:

Leveraging GEO, MEO and LEO (1 Day

CPD)

7 Hours (1 Day) €500

This course provides a well-rounded blend of theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience, empowering technicians and engineers to effectively set up satellite systems for remote connectivity.

The primary goal is to ensure participants gain a foundational understanding of satellite communications while building practical skills for real-world application. Additionally, attendees will leave with a high-level appreciation of the technical essentials, greater confidence in navigating industry terminology, and insights into selecting the best-suited technology for their specific needs.

I. Foundations of Satellite Communications: The basics of satellite system components and technical characteristics with a grounding in the foundational concepts and terminology needed for deeper exploration of SatCom systems..

II. Network Design and System Selection: Design and planning of SatCom networks, considering trade-offs and key factors in system selection; assessment of different SatCom technologies; understanding which solutions best meet operational requirements.

III. Practical Skills Application: This module emphasizes hands-on experience, beginning with a practical session on LEO terminal setup. It also explores downstream applications, providing a comprehensive look at real-world uses of SatCom systems. The module concludes with an interactive Q&A, course assessment, and closing summary.
